*Tom Yum Goong (Sour Shrimp Soup)
INGREDIENTS
10 medium shrimp
1 cup button mushrooms (canned)
1 stalk lemon grass or 2 pieces lemon peel
2 magrood leaves (optional)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon MSG.
2 tablespoons nampla (fish sauce)
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
½ teaspoon chili powder
8 sprigs coriander
1 quart water

METHOD
Wash, peel and cut shrimp.
Bring the water to boil, add lemon grass (lemon peel), and Magrood leaves.
Drop in shrimp and simmer gently for 3 minutes.
Add mushrooms, salt and MSG.
Remove from heat, season with nampla, lemon juice, and chili powder Spoon into individual serving dishes.
Garnish with sprigs of coriander.
Serve hot.
